December20, 2010

Good day everyone. A little pre-Christmas update: 5500 views of the trailer. Nice work all who are spreading the news. Our latest help has come from Tampa Racing, Mustang Daily, Mustang Heaven, and (get this) Mustang Owners Club of Great Britain. Thanks for spreading the word all.

So here is thinking out loud: from everyone we have heard nothing but positive feedback about the idea for the show. The other day a guy comes in and says: that the show might not have the "drama" or "tension" for good TV.
I will be the first to admit we are not going to have a storyline every week that is a "do or die, gotta finish this build or else" theme. We will not have people fighting for the sake of fighting or should I say "entertainment". We will not have boxing ring installed so we can hash out our problems for the world to see, or fire people for the sake of it. However we will have some of the greatest cars from the Mustang world on here. And the story of the people who own them. We will show some great power and handling upgrades, how to restore parts correctly, racing, auctions (do's and dont's, and the excitement that goes with getting your dream car), the worlds best car shows (and what it takes to put one together), what it takes to develop a specialty Mustang and then market it. You will meet people from the Mustang press. Are you getting the theme? It's about you and your car. It's about what we do with the worlds greatest production automobile and the story that goes with it. From what I know about this little world in which I live everyday, the Mustang community is never boring. What do you think?

  1. Yes this is exactly what I'd like to see. A show about the world of Mustangs old & new. No soap opera story to get in the way.

  3. As long as the show is about the cars and not about the people in the shop then I'll tune in....Not interested in drama among shop people, I get that at work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. It will be a very good show. I've been a mustang owner for nearly 27 years. I've got plenty of room on my DVR. Go for it.

  5. Jeff,

Take a look at the Horsepower TV shows on Powerblock TV (I believe it's on the SPIKE channel). No drama, just good performance-building cars. It's one of my favorite shows, which American Pony Builders will be as well. I realize the Discovery Channel may have turned you down, but try SPIKE or the SPEED channels. The trailer is very, very good, but don't be afraid to inject a little humor and have "Mustang Personalities" on the show, like Carroll Shelby, Chip Foose, Steve Saleen, Jack Roush, etc.

  9. That's the kind of show I like! Leave the "drama" to the day-time soap operas! I do agree with Vonz that a little humor goes a long way and a "Mustang personality" thrown in here and there would be good too.
